The New Jersey chapter of  the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) recently recognized ISE student Javier Rubio-Herrero naming him the winner of the 2015 New Jersey Chapter Student Contest for his research. Javier's paper, "Price-setting Newsvendor Model Using Mean-Variance Criteria" was presented at the state's chapter meeting on September 16.

On May 31, 2015 , ISE students,Rohan Rath, Josh Levy, Kyle McKinnon and Dylan Vas, won the 2nd at the national level in the IIE Undergraduate Student Technical Paper Competition (http://www.iienet2.org/Details.aspx?id=863 ). Rohan Rath also receive a travel award from NSF. Congratulations to their great achievement.

On April 22, 2015 the Material Handling Society of New Jersey (MHSNJ) awards scholarships to three ISE senior students, Ryan Bhattacharyya, Jonathan Lonski, Chris Shaw. The scholarships was generated as part of the 2014 MHSNJ Scholarship Golf Outing. Thanks MHSNJ for the support.

Rutgers students placed third in the world after submitting a proposal to the Lean Student Paper Competition hosted by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). Students from the Department of Industrial Engineering created a proposal to improve the efficiency of a paint line at Paramount Metal Finishing (PMF). In placing third, they beat out a host of other teams from several different countries. Many of the competing teams submit senior design projects as their papers.
