Quality & Reliability Engineering

About

One of the teaching and research thrust area of ISE faculty over the last thirty years is Quality and Reliability Engineering. The research deals with methods for quality improvements, design of experiments, on-line quality engineering for univariate and multivariate processes, automatic control, sensors and data analysis. It also deals with system reliability modeling, reliability optimization, accelerated life testing, software reliability, maintenance modeling and optimization. The faculty have published extensively in these areas.

In the teaching area, the Industrial and Systems Engineering program offers an option in Quality and Reliability Engineering in cooperation with the Statistics department, prepares students with a specialty focusing on design of experiments, process control, reliability and quality management. The Quality and Reliability Engineering option requires 30 credits with at least 18 from the ISE program.
